outfitted | west side story

Remember when I told you of my insane jealousy of my friend's upcoming trip to New York City? Well, to add insult to serious injury, she told me she was going to see West Side Story. On Broadway.

On the bright side, she did ask me to create a look for her enchanted evening. She's so darn stylish she doesn't really need my help, but I'm happy to oblige her request {or rather, I'm happy she's indulging me}.

Click for shopping info on Sarah's Evening on Broadway.

If you have an upcoming event and are looking for some style inspiration, drop me a line at modernlovely@hotmail.com or leave me a comment with your event, location and time of year. I'd love to put something together for you.

new york, new york

A wonderful town, indeed. A friend of mine made me quite jealous when she told me that, in a few short weeks, she'd be heading to NYC with some girlfriends. The City? In fall? Oh, be still my heart!

When I went in spring with my mother, we had a wonderful, whirlwind day filled with visiting neighborhoods, checking out shops, visiting with an old high school friend and, of course, enjoying the food. Come along and I'll share the highlights.

mama mia!

Since both of our significant others have been across the country since April, my mom and I have been hanging out more. We enjoy meals, watch chick flicks and sometimes go shopping (if you know my mother, this is completely out of character for her). She even let me drag her around NYC for a whirlwind day - and didn't complain {too much} when we only took one cab ride the entire trip.

I'm so happy that we've had this time to build upon our relationship and hang out more.

Happy birthday, mom!
