generationally defined

I came across a great article a couple of days ago and I wanted to share it.

It's called Generation Catalano: The generation stuck between Gen X and the Millenials and it really resonated with me. I feel the same way as Doree, trying to identify wholly with Gen X and/or the Millenials and finding that neither group feels right.

It seems apropo that I would stumble upon this article, since earlier this year I wrote about my love of and excitement over finding My So-Called Life on Netflix, and feeling nostalgic for hand-written notes {instead of texts} and flannel + combat boots and awkward high school moments.

So if you're like me, stuck in a micro-generational gap the author refers to as Carter babies {those of us who were born between January 1977 and January 1981}, you'll probably find this article particularly comforting, like old episodes of ThunderCats or Jem and Holigrams. It seems we do have a place.

love actually {is all around}

Sometimes people can just be wonderful and show you they care in simple, meaningful ways.

this week...

...a dear friend I've known since preschool texted me out of the blue - just because she was thinking about me. And we haven't seen each other in a couple of years.

...in the midst of wedding planning madness and frustration, a sweet gesture from someone I've never met in person, but have only communicated with via email, brought a smile to my face, gratitude to my heart and even made me a little misty.

...two friends reminded me that what we do is just for fun {thanks Jenny and Anett!}.

{so inspiring}

They may be small gestures, but they are no less significant.
How do you show people you care?

Isn't this so cute? I can't wait to make something delish...like this recipe or this yummy-sounding soup.

medicine ball

A few weeks ago, I had some indications that a cold may be in my future. Scratchy throat, funny feeling in my head. I didn't have time or energy to be sick and, in chatting with one of my best friends, learned about Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Medicine Ball. It's not on the menu, but ask if they have it.

The Medicine Ball is a delicious hot tea that soothes a sore throat and comforts you when you're feeling under the weather. Totally worth a shot if you're not feeling well. It worked wonders for me!
