it may be cliche, but...

I totally left my heart in San Francisco. I mean, how could you not when this little man lives there?

Isn't he just the most darling baby?
He's even cuter in person, if you can believe it.

And let me tell you, this girl is the reason the term "bff" exists.

I hope you're lucky enough to have a friend {or two, or three} who, no matter the time or distance that separates you, you can easily pick things back up with like you saw them yesterday.

We ate good food, shopped til our feet hurt, cheered the 49ers on to victory, primped like we were going to an award show and practiced yoga by candlelight with 100+ new friends. Oh, yeah, and shared countless laughs and finished each others sentences, just like old times.

a unique honeymoon adventure

After an amazing wedding spent with our closest friends and family {whether they were there in person or in spirit}, Mark and I jetted off to Kauai for our honeymoon : eight days filled with relaxing, hiking, exploring the island, snorkeling, enjoying each other's company, hospital stays...

Yes, hospital stays.

Who knew that our vows "In sickness and in health" would be tested just one day after we got married?

Poor Mark got a really bad infection that had to be knocked out with a series of heavy-duty antibiotics, so he spent the first few days of our honeymoon in a hospital room. The doctors and nurses were so lovely, and we were known around the hospital as "the honeymooners."

After he was released, he was given strict orders to rest, elevate his leg and continue his antibiotics. So our honeymoon didn't exactly start out as expected, but we had some wonderful times. Check back later this week to see what we ate, what we saw {unfortunately, no sightings of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Thereaux, who were there the same time we were} and what we did.

a deal on date {or any} night

Have I ever mentioned that I'm obsessed with getting a great deal? If I haven't disclosed this bit of information outright, I'll say it now. I love finding something I want/need/never knew I needed until this very moment for a steal.

Suffice it to say, I'm also obsessed with websites like Groupon, Haute Look and Gilt Groupe. You can buy great stuff, experiences, getaways {I recently picked up rooms at a boutique hotel for a song} at insansely discounted prices.

Today, another website that is growing in popularity - Living Social - is offering a $10 worth of food and beverages at one of Mark's and my favorites : Fuego Taco {remember our recent date night?}.

a little something extra : both Groupon and Living Social have apps for your smart phone. They make it dangerously easy to purchase mindlessly. Just a little word of caution.

we in dc

You can't get much more patriotic than celebrating Memorial Day weekend in D.C. Although it was hot and humid {but absolutely gorgeous in Phoenix - I don't want to talk about it}, we had an amazing time exploring the city and checking out the sites.
