a sweet six months

Today marks six months of marriage for Mark and me. Hooray! To celebrate, I visited our wedding website and watched the save the date video Mark created. I love it and it always makes me smile.

Check it out here.

delayed

Mark and I spent the weekend in San Diego, conducting final meetings with our wedding vendors. We had a great time checking things off our list and visiting with the people who will be making our wedding dreams a reality. In between our meetings, we enjoyed the picture-perfect weather and even had time both days to soak up the sun and surf at the beach {more on that later}.

What wasn't so fun was the 2-hour + delay at the airport on our way back to Phoenix.

But we're back home in the desert, safe and sound. And hot.

food coma

This weekend, Mark and I flew to San Diego to test out some cake bakers and caterers and I think we're still stuffed.

tsa-fty first

Mark and I have been eating our way through San Diego, sampling catering menus and cakes, and I don't think I've ever been so full for so long.

To kick off our trip, I was one of the chosen ones at security and was scanned in the full-body scanner -  Mark got off easy and walked through the metal detector.

On our way home, I got chosen for the full-body scanner - again {and fyi, if you have a bobbypin holding back your bangs, take it out or they'll pat down your head}. And again, Mark didn't. Sometimes I wonder how I get so lucky.

When we got home, I opened my checked luggage and noticed something was off. Then I found this

Safety first, right?

Check back later this week to see what kinds of foods we indulged in!

fabulously talented friends

I am lucky to have some wonderfully, exceptionally talented friends. My best friend had her work featured on Style Me Pretty, one of my favorite wedding blogs.

When this wedding popped up, I immediately fell in love - and when I saw the invitations, I thought they were simple and elegant and would definitely be included in my inspiration board. Imagine my elation when I found out that the very person who created them is the same gal who will be standing beside me as one of my MOHs when I get married!
